Wine and Roses is a great spot for a quiet dinner for two or for your group up to 100 or family. As you would expect from these seasoned Sanibel restaurateurs, there is a large wine list and a rose on every table.

Menus are hard cover and entrees range from veal to pizza with the emphasis on pasta specialties. Tables are cloth covered at dinner. Waiters are conversant with menu items, cheerful, accommodating, and aproned in basic black -- dignified without being stuffy. The enormous menu features most of your Italian favorites but with larger portions and Cape Coral prices.

The restaurant building itself was stripped to the studs and has been completely redone front and back giving Wine and Roses a pleasant, tastefully decorated dining room, and separate party and event facilities served by a full bar and one of the cleanest, most modern kitchens on the Cape.

Yes, their signature pizza (Choice of 26 toppings) and most menu items are available for carryout and/or delivery (limited area), and there is plenty of parking in the back off of Lafayette Street. The lunch menu, which features wraps, subs, baskets burgers and select pastas, is available from 11-4. The entire dinner menu and pizzas are available all day.

A taste of Old Chicago
