AOL & MSN Users Tip
If you are not getting the latest version of The Great
GiveAway,
or if you would just like to speed up your Internet page loading time ...
We have come across a lot of AOL & MSN users that are not aware that when you log on to AOL & MSN, all the features and functions are on AOL & MSN's server. You are technically on one huge web site. When you put an address into the "Type Keywords or Web Addresses Here" bar, anywhere you go to is secondary to AOL & MSN. In other words, you are still running off their server. This will cause a delay and make loading pages from the Internet take longer.
To speed up your Internet browsing, when you want
to go to a web site (such as CityBizDirectory), go to the lower left hand
portion of your screen and next to the START button on Windows, you will see a
image. This is also accessible from your Windows Desk Top. Click on
it.
This will bring up Internet Explorer. Put the address in the Address bar, click GO (or Enter on you keyboard) and you will find things load much faster. AOL & MSN will still be running in the background, and anytime you want to get back to AOL & MSN, (such as to answer an IM or if you get mail), simply click on the AOL & MSN Icon at the bottom of your screen. You can go back and forth at will without closing either one out.
You may also want to REFRESH the page to make sure it is current. The REFRESH button is at the top of your Internet Explorer browser. This will automatically load the most current version of any page you are viewing.
To bookmark CityBizDirectory, simply click on Favorites in the top of your Internet Explorer browser, and click ADD TO FAVORITES. Once you have put some web addresses in the Address bar and loaded some sites, you can go back to those sites by clicking the down arrow at the right of the Explorer Address bar and clicking on the site address you want to go to.
Now go have fun! It's faster and easy!
Once you have broadband, and you don't dial up anymore, call AOL & MSN and let them know. Your AOL & MSN account can stay just as it is as far as features and screen names, etc, but the price goes down. Or you can tell them you don't need them anymore, because you won't! If you don't use the AOL features, your broadband service will provide you with an email account, (or you can use Yahoo or Hotmail, etc), and you can even download Instant Messenger FREE and use it to chat with your friends and save the money you used to spend on AOL!
